About a year and a half ago, we discovered this special place tucked into the pines of Twain Harte and instantly felt its quiet magic. What began as a simple family retreat quickly became a labor of love. We thoughtfully remodeled the original cabin to create a true mountain escape—one with five-star amenities, beautiful design, and spaces that invite both connection and rest.
The Upper Cabin was designed as the heart of the retreat, featuring a private sauna, hot tub, outdoor shower, fire pit, and a fully equipped outdoor kitchen complete with a refrigerator, sink, burners, smoker, and grill. Inside, the home offers two complete living areas, allowing groups of up to 25 to spread out comfortably without feeling on top of one another. Just outside, hammocks invite you to relax while listening to the gentle creek nearby—perfect for slow mornings and quiet afternoons. Every detail was created with gathering in mind, from shared meals to spaces that allow for privacy and rest.
Throughout the property, thoughtful touches encourage play and connection, including frisbee golf woven through the grounds, cornhole boards at both cabins, and fire pits at each property for evenings spent sharing stories under the stars.
As our family continued to grow, the charming cabin next door—the Lower Cabin—came up for sale, and we couldn’t resist expanding the retreat. The two cabins are connected by a short walking path and sit on a shared 3.5-acre parcel. Though they are right next door to one another, they remain approximately 100 yards apart, offering a rare blend of togetherness and privacy. The Lower Cabin features two bedrooms and two full bathrooms, including a bunk room and a private master suite with a comfortable sleeper sofa—ideal for families or smaller groups up to 10 people. Outside, you’ll find an inviting fire pit, cornhole boards, and a deluxe BBQ perfect for long meals, celebrations, and easy outdoor living. By May of 2026, the Lower Cabin’s yard will be fully completed and will include a hot tub and outdoor shower as well.
While we aren’t able to enjoy the cabins as often as we’d like, we wanted to share this space with other families and groups looking for a place that feels peaceful, beautiful, fun, and deeply relaxing—a place to gather, slow down, and create lasting memories.
